Kids’ feet want to explore the world – preferably barefoot. But sometimes the floor is too cold or too rough. That’s exactly why we make our soft leather slippers – cozy, comfortable, and perfect for playing, crawling, and learning to walk.
Our Orangenkinder® leather slippers “Herbert the Tractor” are lovingly handcrafted from breathable, vegetable-tanned organic leather. Whether as first crawling shoes, walkers, or simply to protect little toes – they give feet plenty of room to grow and feel almost as free as being barefoot.
Especially practical: Thanks to the hand-stitched elastic band, the shoes stay securely on babies’ feet, while older children can slip them on and off in a flash.
The natural leather is untreated, tested for harmful substances, and processed according to strict ecological guidelines. This makes our leather slippers breathable, skin-friendly, and completely safe – almost like a second skin, just much more colorful and cheerful.

Place your child on a piece of paper and trace the outline of the foot with a pencil.
2. measuring
Foot length: Measure the longest distance between the middle of the heel and the biggest toe.
(The required size increase has already been taken into account – please do not add anything to the measured foot length)

Material
Upper: 100% natural leather
Our natural leather is vegetable-tanned and chrome-free, making it especially skin-friendly. It is characterized by its wonderful softness, grip, naturalness, and beautiful colors.
Outsole & insole: 100% natural leather
Completely uncoated and breathable. This provides a very healthy climate for little feet, meaning they sweat very little or not at all. Additionally, our leather is naturally slip-resistant, durable, and robust.
Care instructions
To keep the natural leather of Orangenkinder® shoes as durable as possible, it needs care to stay supple, soft, and tear-resistant! We recommend using an ecological leather care product, such as Tapir – also available here in our shop: here
Alternatively, you can grease dark Orangenkinder® natural leather with standard household olive oil – let it soak in and buff with a soft cloth – your leather slippers will look like new again!
Dirty shoes:
Just brush off – do not wash or rinse, and do not use detergents, dish soap, etc.! If necessary, wipe with a damp cloth.
Caution when wet:
Dyed leathers (intense shades) may bleed due to moisture/sweat.
To dry:
Stuff with newspaper to dry, without using external heat sources (no radiators, etc.).
Sole:
Occasionally roughen natural leather soles with a wire brush to keep the shoes slip-resistant.
