How do I care for my Orangenkinder®?

Our Orangenkinder® house, crawling and barefoot shoes are like a second skin for little feet thanks to the natural leather used – they provide warmth and protection. But like your own skin, it also needs a lot of care because of its tough use. It is best to first clean the shoes with a damp (never wet) soft cloth or brush when they are dirty. A soft, white eraser also removes superficial dirt stains quite well. here

Cleaning with feeling and gentle aids – we don’t want to strain our skin too much.

To keep the natural leather of Orangenkinder® children’s shoes as durable as possible, it must be cared for so that it remains supple, soft and tear-resistant! For this we recommend using an ecological leather care product, such as Tapir – also here in our shop: here

Alternatively, you can also grease dark Orangenkinder® natural leather with commercially available olive oil from the household – let it soak in and polish it with a soft cloth – your leather slippers will then look like new again!

But be careful: Use two different cloths for dark and light applications or leather colors – it could happen that you rub stains into the other tones / colors with only one cloth for both!

What you should definitely not do:

Never wash the Orangenkinder® leather shoes with large
amounts of water and especially not in the washing machine with detergents
or the like. Our Orangenkinder® are real nature boys – with so much
moisture and chemical cleaners they become rock hard and break immediately – that would be a great pity.

Quick tips for care

  • Stuff with newspaper to dry, without strong external effects (no heating, etc.)
  • Dyed leathers (intensive colors) can stain due to moisture/sweat.
