TAPIR Leather Care & Waterproofer

This wonderful leather care product is not only suitable for suede leather. We Orangenkinder have also tested this care product for our smooth leather shoes and found it to be very good. It provides ideal care and is super easy to apply from the spray bottle, but please remember that this care product is not suitable for polishing/shining, but rather for caring for and lightly waterproofing the shoes.

Unfortunately, conventional waterproofing sprays are unsuitable for Orangenkinder. The children are still too often touching their shoes with their little hands and even their mouths. In addition, these spray bottles often contain greenhouse gases, and a lot of the spray goes to waste. Fluorocarbon compounds are also ozone depleters! And frequent waterproofing also prevents the breathability of leather. We do not use petroleum in the care products we select.

The Tapir waterproofing for suede, nubuck and suede leather shoes is highly water-repellent and has a slightly cleaning effect.

Before spraying, clean the shoes well with a brush if they are dirty. The small TAPIR brush in our shop is ideally suited for this – also ideal for small children’s hands. After drying, spray the leather waterproofing onto the leather from a distance of est. 20-30 cm. The spray pattern is not always even and forms droplets because we do not use propellant.

Please distribute these droplets immediately and evenly on the leather with a small Tapir application brush or the Tapir polishing brush and let them dry for a short time. Then roughen the leather with the Tapir suede brass brush or a foam rubber. Work in one direction. You can find more about caring for children’s shoes here.

Scope of delivery: The Tapir leather waterproofing is delivered in a 50ml glass bottle. Attention: A slight darkening of the leather is possible, so test a color sample on sensitive leather.
Ingredients: Lanolin, vegetable stearin, natural solvents, ammonia, water.
